LOCKPORT, NY - April 28, 2008
The Buffalo District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration recently named Gerald J. Hace, owner of Gooding Company, Inc., as the District’s Small Business Person of the Year. The award is given during Small Business Week to recognize exceptional entrepreneurs in the Western New York area.
Hace, who purchased Gooding Company, Inc. in 1990, was the first non-family member to take charge of the business since 1876 when the company was established. Since then, the company has expanded from 15 to 32 full-time employees, and its recent economic impact has reached over $2 million. Gooding Company, Inc. specializes in printing inserts and outserts for the pharmaceutical and consumer packaging markets.
Small Business Week, which takes place in Buffalo from May 11th to the 17th, is renowned for recognizing the achievements of small businesses and their positive contributions to the economy of the United States. Since 1963, each president has noted the importance of small businesses in creating jobs, giving families better lives, and transforming communities throughout our country. Gerald Hace is being honored in the Buffalo District, which is comprised of the 14 westernmost counties of New York State.
Small Business Week award winners will be honored during a recognition ceremony, which will be held on May 14th, 2008 from 11:30-1:30pm at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
